Guys Answer Questions Girls Are Too Afraid to Ask

What do guys actually think?

Do they notice when a girl likes them? Do they care if a girl makes the first move? What are the biggest green flags in a relationship — and what makes them lose interest? Do guys really overthink things as much as girls do?

We’ve wondered all of that. Probably more than once.

Instead of guessing — or trusting random relationship advice from the internet — we invited one of our closest friends, Aiden, onto the WAG Podcast and told him he wasn’t leaving until he answered the questions girls are usually too afraid to ask.

We expected a few quick answers. Instead we ended up debating dating, loyalty, eye contact, giant foreheads, escape rooms, unmatched socks, and whether Bella’s dating standards require a full application process. Basically, a normal day with us.

This isn’t the first time we’ve done this, either — Ryan answered his own round of questions a few months back, and the answers didn’t always line up.

Why We Wanted a Guy’s Perspective

The internet is full of dating advice, and half of it contradicts the other half. One video says never text him first. Another says he’ll think you’re not interested if you don’t. One says guys love confidence; another says confidence is intimidating.

So instead of guessing, we asked someone we actually know. Aiden isn’t a dating coach — he’s just a teenage guy who somehow agreed to let three girls ask him every awkward question they could think of. Looking back, he probably should’ve asked more questions before saying yes.

What Do Guys Overthink?

We expected something funny. Instead, Aiden said something that made all of us stop for a second: loyalty.

According to him, a lot of guys spend way more time than girls realize wondering if someone actually likes them or if they’re completely misreading the situation. Was she just being nice? Was she flirting? Should I text first? Am I overthinking this?

Turns out girls aren’t the only ones replaying conversations in their heads.

WAG takeaway: Overthinking isn’t a girl thing. It’s a human thing.

Should Girls Make the First Move?

A lot of girls grow up hearing the guy is supposed to make the first move. Aiden didn’t see it that way at all — he said if a girl starts the conversation, asks him to hang out, or makes it obvious she’s interested, it actually makes things easier because it removes the guessing.

Bella looked genuinely shocked. Apparently years of trusting eye contact alone may not have been the flawless strategy she thought it was.

WAG takeaway: Sometimes the bravest thing you can do is simply say hello.

What Do Guys Actually Notice?

Do guys notice hair, outfits, shoes, nails — all the little details girls spend forever thinking about? Aiden admitted every guy is different: some notice everything, some barely notice anything.

But one answer kept coming back throughout the conversation — looks might catch someone’s attention, but personality is what keeps it. Kindness, gratitude, confidence, and the way someone treats other people mattered far more than whether your shoes matched your outfit.

What’s the Best Compliment You Can Give a Guy?

According to Aiden, guys don’t hear compliments nearly as often as girls think they do — which means even something simple can stick with them for a long time. Compliment his smile. Tell him you appreciate something he did. Notice when he puts in effort. It doesn’t have to be dramatic. It just has to be genuine.

What Are the Biggest Green Flags?

Even though we kept asking completely different questions, the answers kept circling back to the same ideas — not expensive gifts or perfect pickup lines, but:

  • Kindness
  • Loyalty
  • Good communication
  • Confidence
  • Respect
  • Gratitude
  • Having goals
  • Being yourself

None of those are flashy. They’re just the qualities that actually build healthy relationships.

What Are the Biggest Turn-Offs?

The red-flag answers weren’t nearly as dramatic as social media makes them sound. No impossible checklist — just poor communication, dishonesty, trying too hard to impress everyone else, treating people differently depending on who’s around, and playing games instead of being honest. The girls didn’t even agree on everything, which made the conversation better.

Do Guys Really Notice Eye Contact?

Bella was convinced eye contact says everything. Aiden wasn’t so sure. One of the funniest moments of the episode came from realizing girls often think they’re sending obvious signals — while guys are standing there wondering if someone was simply looking past them. Bella wasn’t convinced. We’re pretty sure she’s going to keep testing her theory.

What We Learned

Guys overthink more than we expected. Communication beats guessing. Confidence matters. Kindness matters. Respect matters. And eye contact isn’t nearly as obvious as Bella thought (she’s still not convinced).

Maybe that’s the real lesson: girls don’t have every relationship question figured out, and guys don’t either. Everyone’s trying to understand each other a little better. Sometimes all it takes is asking the question instead of guessing the answer.

We covered way more than fits in one article — watch the full episode for every awkward question, every unexpected answer, and the giant forehead jokes that definitely weren’t part of the original plan.

Quick Answers

What questions do girls want to ask guys?

Some of the biggest ones: whether guys notice hints, whether girls should make the first move, what guys overthink, what they find attractive, which relationship green flags matter most, and how they read mixed signals.

Do guys like when girls make the first move?

According to Aiden in this episode, yes — a girl starting the conversation or being upfront about interest removes the guessing that guys overthink just as much as girls do.

What do guys notice first about girls?

It depends on the guy, but this conversation kept landing on the same idea: looks might catch attention, but kindness, confidence, gratitude, and personality are what actually stick.

What are green flags in a relationship, according to guys?

The ones that came up again and again: honesty, communication, kindness, loyalty, confidence, gratitude, respect, having goals, and just being yourself.

What do guys overthink?

Loyalty and mixed signals, mostly — whether a girl actually likes them or whether they're reading the whole situation wrong. Turns out guys replay conversations in their heads too.
