The Amazing World of Sea Turtles

Did you know that Sea Turtles have been swimming the earth's oceans for more that 100 million years?  That's right, these gentle sea giants even survived the dinosaurs when the dinosaurs became extinct over 65 million years ago!  These mighty marine creatures can be found in nearly every major ocean, and depending on their species can grow to weigh over 2,000 pounds!

Do you like to swim?  Get your flippers on because these turtles love to travel and have been known to cross entire oceans while traveling over 10,000 miles per year!

Did you know that there are 7 different species of Sea Turtles?

That's right, and depending on their species, some sea turtles are herbivores and love to graze on plants like sea grass; while others are carnivores and love to eat meat like jelly fish, sea sponges, and shrimp.  And let's not forget our omnivore Sea Turtle friends!  These turtles love eating a healthy diet of both sea plants and spongy sea creatures.
